Epic Courier prides itself on partnering with other local worker-owned and operated organizations, non-profits and community development organizations within Baltimore. Here are some of our friends:
Combining classic artisanal techniques and modern materials, Bishop Bikes have a clean, modern aesthetic and precise attention to detail. Bike fit and handling tailored to customer needs and riding style are signatures of Bishop’s craft, with beautiful paint and thinned lugs being the finishing flourishes on a solid foundation.
Learning about your riding style, goals and conditions you ride in are important to understand the type of rider you are. This is the specialty of Cutlass Wheels, ran by our very own Tommy Barse, who has been hand-building bicycle wheels for the past 6 years. The possibilities are nearly endless to get a set of wheels that you can rely on day in and day out. Selecting the spokes, hubs and rims starts with a conversation or an email, and Tommy would be happy to discuss it with you!
Moveable Feast provides nutritious meals and other services at no cost to people who suffer from severe illnesses that limit their physical activity, low income and high health care costs, and isolation from their support network during the work day. Overall, they are super awesome. Epic is proud to say that they volunteer to deliver emergency food deliveries to Moveable Feast clients at absolutely no charge. Two of our employee-owners, Ken and Jason, have also volunteered their time to raise money and pedal for Moveable Feast for their annual Ride for the Feast. Ken actually learned how to dispatch in the client services department at the non-profit, where he organized and sent out medical transportation and meal deliveries.
Epic is proud to announce that we are partnering with Thread Coffee, the resident roasters at Red Emma’s Bookstore and Coffeehouse to deliver their transparently traded, cooperatively roasted coffee by bicycle, emissions-free, within Baltimore. If you’re not already a member of the Thread’s Community-Supported Coffee then we highly suggest you sign up and, when you do, ask about how you can have your beans delivered right to your home!
Baltimore Print Studios
Baltimore Print Studios is a public access, letterpress and screenprinting studio that offers classes and workshops and whatnot. They are also super friendly and helpful and helped us out! Go check out what they got and take some classes!
Station North Tool Library
The Station North Tool Library’s mission is to empower individuals, through affordable access to tools, skills, and workspace, to positively direct development, rehabilitation, and construction of their environment and their lives. And they do that by sharing their tools and sometimes accepting payment in the form of baked goods.
Baltimore Bicycle Works
BBW is a friendly, service-oriented bicycle shop in Station North. Organized as a worker cooperative, their goal is to promote cycling and offer a full-service shop for everyone from new riders to experienced cyclists. Their shop cat, Falkor, is pretty awesome.
